Phenomenology is a modern philosophical movement which focuses
on how the structure of conscious experience is able to reference
objects outside itself. Founded by Edmund Husserl in 1913,
phenomenology bypasses theories and assumptions of other
disciplines. Instead, it focuses on the abstract concepts of memory,
desire, and perception which allow objects to be referenced.
